Costa Rica – the land of biodiversity

Costa Rica is considered one of the most valued environmental destinations globally with more than 25% of its territory dedicated to national parks, reserves and wildlife refuges. These are home to over 500,000 species, representing 5% of the total amount estimated worldwide.

Costa Ricans call themselves Ticos, respond to almost everything with “pura vida” (“life is beautiful”) slogan, have one of the highest life expectancy on earth and are believed to be the happiest people on the planet (although they keep quiet when being asked about that).
